Description

The Wylam Dilly Steam Locomotive Blackwork Embroidery Kit or Pattern

The Wylam Dilly Steam Locomotive Blackwork kit is based on the second oldest surviving steam locomotive in the world. The locomotive is named after the Wylam Colliery, where the locomotive was used.

It was constructed circa 1815.

After withdrawal it was presented to the Edinburgh Museum of Science and Art in 1883, now called the National Museum of Scotland, where it is currently on display.

This is part of a collection of Steam Locomotive designs I am designing with my Steam Engine loving Dad.  The others in the set include Catch-Me-Who-Can and The Puffing Billy, Locomotion No.1, The Rocket, Castle Class and Clun Castle Steam Locomotive.

My Dad has proof stitched each of the engine patterns for me.

This design is ideal for anyone, from a beginner to an expert in any counted embroidery technique.

Apart from a sewing frame/hoop and scissors, this kit is ready to use as soon as you receive it in the post.
